To future brides—have you ever thought about skipping the pre-gown makeup look?
We say this with care, because we really do see the beauty in it. It’s a lovely part of the day for many, and a unique experience in itself. It’s something to look forward to, and it makes your wedding preparations feel a little more special.
Having a pre-gown look would mean spending a bit more time in the makeup chair–time you could use to ease into the day, spend time with loved ones, enjoy your morning coffee unrushed, or have more portraits in the bridal look you so carefully chose.
If it feels like something you’ll truly enjoy, we say go for it. But we also wanted to say—it’s okay to skip it too.
This isn’t to say one way is better than the other.
It’s simply a gentle reminder: you don’t have to do things a certain way just because it’s become the norm. You get to choose what feels right for you.
It’s more than okay to let go of what doesn’t feel necessary—so you can make space for what truly matters TO YOU. It is after all, your wedding day!
